In addition, American Museum of Natural History has also identified 815 total unassociated funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony in their collections.

Note: Under NAGPRA, museums, universities and federal agencies are not required to report when ancestors, funerary objects, or other sacred objects are returned to tribes or Native Hawaiian Organizations. Therefore, it is possible that there are fewer ancestors or sacred objects actually in a museum's collection currently than listed at the time of publication. We will consider amending an organization's page if contacted.

Data is from the National Parks Service, updated November 13, 2024. It may be incomplete for individual institutions.
